Open School Board Position
APPLY FOR CURRENT BOARD VACANCY
The Board of Education is now accepting applications from district residents interested in the Board vacancy created by the resignation of Ms. Nikki Muchow in January 2025. Those interested in applying for the vacancy must submit documents by 12 NOON, FRIDAY, March 7, 2025, by hand-delivering a letter of interest to the district office, or emailing a letter to tpotts@edbqhs.org.
A candidate shall, on the date of his or her appointment, be a citizen of the United States of America, 18 years of age or older, a resident of the State of Illinois and the school district for at least one year immediately preceding his or her appointment, and a registered voter. (After the selected candidate's appointment, it will be necessary for him or her to complete a STATEMENT OF ECONOMIC INTEREST with the Jo Daviess County Clerk.)
Letters of interest should include a brief biographical background as well as work experience.
The Board will interview selected candidates on Monday, March 10, and appoint an individual at an upcoming Board meeting to fill the vacancy for the balance of the resigning elected Board member's term, which ends in 2027. This seat will be up for election in the Consolidated Election in 2027.
